Manfredi/Gasworth Duo
Dr. Zo Manfredi, violin Michelle Gasworth, viola
Since their debut in 2014, the Manfredi/Gasworth Duo has been giving performances in various venues including Drake University, Grinnell College, Heather Ridge Community Concerts, and at the David Adler Music and Arts Center. The Duo was invited as the Guest Artist Ensemble for the 2017 Cedar Valley Chamber Music Festival, located in Cedar Falls, IA. In addition to performing alongside festival musicians in performances throughout Northeastern Iowa, the Duo expanded the Festival’s Outreach initiatives to present workshop performances exposing new populations to classical music including victims of domestic violence, a female youth empowerment group, and refugees from more than ten countries.
In addition to their outreach, the Manfredi/Gasworth Duo is also committed to creating and expanding educational opportunities for young students of all ages. In 2014, the Duo founded and currently direct the David Adler Center for the Arts Chamber Music Camp in Libertyville, Illinois along with cellist, Ross Gasworth. The camp seeks to cultivate and foster the collaborative and leadership skills necessary to perform chamber music for young students between the ages of 8 and 14 years old. In addition to these performing opportunities, students are introduced to eurhythmics and music theory to supplement their education. Enrollment within the chamber music camp is in high demand and the Duo is currently working on additional projects to expand these opportunities in other geographic areas.
